Month: March 2018
I watched “A Wrinkle in Time” this past weekend and it’s been on my mind. Not so much the movie, but the reception of it.
I haven’t read the books but I went with a friend that lists the books in her top 10 books of all time and she is an avid reader. Apparently characters were taken out, scenes were taken out, etc.
I’m not surprised. With any adaption, this tends to happen.
So why do studios still make adaptations? The movie hasn’t even passed the $50mil mark with a budget of $103mil. Not to mention the great Ava DuVernay at it’s helm.
Why do studios keep doing it? Is it ’cause they can claim it as a loss?
Hmmm…
Lots of scripts here to check out.
No excuses. Here’s a list of women you can call on for your next film.
How losing money, and not getting it back, actually helped a director get the notice he had been looking for.
